Job Description

Employment type: Temporary position. Dates of employment: February 13, 2026 to October 31, 2026. Responsibilities Picking, weeding, watering, pruning, spraying, spacing, tagging, and fertilizing plants. Counting and inventorying plant material. Loading and unloading finished plants onto wagons and trucks. Removing plastic from seasonal holding houses in the spring and covering seasonal houses in the fall. Assisting in building seasonal holding houses. Filling, lifting, and carrying pots with soil and plant material, ensuring minimal damage to leaves, limbs, and roots. Assisting in loading trucks with product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of up to 5 feet for long periods of time. Pushing, pulling, and navigating loaded carts weighing between 100–300 pounds over a distance. Standing on feet in bent positions for long periods. Walking extensively and performing repetitive movements. Working in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, under light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme temperatures ranging from 10 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Performing work during occasional showers that are not severe enough to stop field operations. Complying with safety rules, pesticide warning/re‑entry, and other essential postings. Qualifications Minimum three months of prior experience working in a wholesale nursery operation. Ability to perform both manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Physical ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds, lift to a height of up to 5 feet, and work on feet in bent positions for long periods. Availability to work for the entire temporary period. Communicative skills and the ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisors. Ability to recognize, understand, and comply with safety, pesticide warning/re‑entry, and essential workplace postings. Colorblindness or allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect ability to perform the job. Availability to work Saturdays. Applicants must be able to furnish a verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Additional Information Transportation from living quarters to the work site will be provided at no cost for workers who must be provided housing under applicable regulations. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at the company's discretion based on work performance, skill, and tenure.
