Job Title: Writing Tutor Location: Albemarle - 003, Piedmont Virginia Community College. Employment Details Type: Part-time (wage); Pay: $16.87/hour; Hours: up to 29 hours per week; Variable schedule. Job Summary Writing Center tutors collaborate with students to develop their writing across disciplines and support student success. Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with students to develop thinking, writing and reading skills. Work one‑on‑one, in small groups, or whole class activities. Model academic processes and promote independent learning. Document tutoring sessions and participate in professional development. Create resources to support student writing at PVCC. Assist with other duties as assigned and respond to emergency situations if required. Qualifications Desire to work with and learn from others. Commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment. Demonstrated academic resilience and success in subjects they tutor. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Responsible, dependable, and honest.
