Draw blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and accuracy procedures
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, accurately labeling and verifying patient information
Communicate procedures clearly and professionally to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence
Verify patient demographics and obtain signatures post-venipuncture to ensure specimen integrity
Maintain thorough records and documentation of specimen collection and patient interactions
Perform specimen processing and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
Ensure a safe, organized, and professional environment in all settings, including patient service centers and office-based locations
Exercise judgment and decision-making within established policies and procedures
Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Effective communication and customer service abilities
Accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (required); medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Experience in a patient service center environment is preferred
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, including travel between multiple locations
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable
Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate openly and adapt to changing needs
