Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures to ensure patient safety and specimen integrity.
Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, verifying patient demographic information and obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture.
Maintain precise records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing activities.
Create a professional and trusting environment for patients by explaining procedures clearly and demonstrating sensitivity and confidentiality.
Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, dress code, and healthcare regulations at all times.
Perform specimen verification and labeling to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment in various clinical settings including patient service centers and in-office locations.
Required Skills
Proven proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric draws, with at least three years of direct experience.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures and foster trust with patients.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure specimen integrity and accurate documentation.
Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently during high-volume work shifts.
Basic keyboard and data entry skills, with familiarity in maintaining accurate records.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
Phlebotomy certification is preferred; required in specific states such as California, Nevada, and Washington.
Minimum of three years of experience in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric collections, with practical experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed; travel between multiple locations may be required.
Must live within a 20-25 minute commute to the worksite.
Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
