Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Prepare and process blood specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
Create a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and confidently to patients.
Follow safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily operational needs, including travel between multiple locations.
Required Skills
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures and interact with patients and team members.
Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
Good judgment and decision-making abilities based on established protocols.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Experience working in a patient service center or clinical setting is preferred.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if travel between locations is required.
