Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing endoscopic and related gastroenterology procedures in a fast-paced procedural setting. The Endoscopy RN is responsible for pre-procedure patient assessment, preparing patients and procedure rooms, administering ordered medications and moderate sedation, monitoring patients throughout procedures, and providing thorough post-procedure recovery care and education. Working closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, technicians, and other members of the care team, you will support a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures while upholding strict standards of safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include verifying informed consent, reviewing histories and medications, establishing IV access, performing ongoing hemodynamic and respiratory monitoring, accurately documenting nursing interventions and patient responses, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition or emergent situations. The Endoscopy RN also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, maintains competency with specialized endoscopy equipment and reprocessing protocols, and assists in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
