TITLE : DeliveryDriver (Non-CDL) STATUS : Non-exempt JOB # 3070

Location : Abilene, College Hills

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Donation Service Manager or Store Manager SUPERVISES: N/A

POSITION SUMMARY : Demonstrates Goodwill's Core Values through actions and behaviors. Responsible for the safe, timely and professional transport of donated goods, retail merchandise and company materials between locations. Includes loading and unloading items, maintaining required documentation/checklists, vehicle safety maintenance and providing excellent customer service while representing Goodwill positively in the community.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

This position does NOT require CDL license

Experience driving vehicles 14 - 26 ft or similar required

Pick-up & delivery experience required

Valid Texas Drivers License with a good driving record required

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFIC SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail (items count and documentation)
• Must be able to follow verbal instructions
• Must be able to read and write the English language
• Ability to read and interpret maps and utilize GPS as needed
• Must be able to organize and follow a route, daily
• Regular lifting of heavy or awkward items
• Stooping and bending required
• Standing for extended periods of time

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Operate company vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company practices and policies. (E)
• Successfully completes all required training courses. (E)
• Deliver and pick up merchandise, donations, supplies or equipment according to approved routes and schedules (E)
• Plan efficient routes using maps or GPS. Ensure effective use of time. (E)
• Communicate delays, incidents or route changes to supervisor in a timely manner (E)
• Load & unload goods using safe lifting techniques & proper equipment (dolly, flat bed, etc.) (E)
• Gain co-workers assistance as needed (E)
• Secure items to prevent shifting or damage during transit (E)
• Stage or place items in designated areas at delivery or pickup sites (E)
• Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a positive, friendly manner (E)
• Must be able to follow through on instructions with little direct supervision (E)
• Must be able to walk, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
• Communicate appropriately and positively with co-workers and others
• Willingness to perform all other job duties requested
