Blood Bank Supervisor Req #: 0000250165 | Status: Salaried | Shift: Day | Pay Range: $90,000.00 – $103,500.00 per year Responsibilities Supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities of employees performing routine and complex blood testing procedures. Assumes responsibility for identifying results or problems requiring referral to Medical Director or Laboratory Director/Manager. Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chair of Pathology or designee. Ensures unit/department compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. Maintains positive and focused work environment despite obstacles and setbacks. Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high visibility and accessibility. Follows through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion. Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them. Employs effective selection, interviewing, recognition, fair discipline, and ongoing performance feedback. Demonstrates sense of urgency in completing assignments. Organizes multiple assignments and projects simultaneously to accomplish goals. Effectively allocates and schedules resources. Projects and appropriately staffs unit/department to meet demand. Utilizes labor and non‑labor resources to maximize efficiency and quality. Interacts constructively, tactfully, and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively. Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforce. Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests. Utilizes feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs. Contributes to improving quality services and productivity by continually evaluating work, reporting problems, suggesting solutions, and trying new ideas. Applies principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations. Seeks feedback and recommendations to improve quality, processes, and services. Adheres to budgetary guidelines and proactively manages budget variances and causes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, biological, or equivalent based on CLIA and CAP requirements. Minimum of 5 years of experience in area of responsibility. ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
