Hematology/Blood Bank Supervisor

Join our laboratory team and make a difference at a great community based hospital, Montefiore Mount Vernon. The hospital is part of the Montefiore Einstein a premier academic health system serving more than three million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley.

We have an excellent opportunity for a part time/ every other weekend, Hematology/Blood Bank Supervisor to join our team.

Position Summary:

Monitor accurate, timely and cost effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunological and microscopic tests.

Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Provide training
• Check competencies
• Document fair and objective performance evaluation
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities
• Review all critical values

Required Background:

• NYSED license required/Laboratory Technologist Certification
• Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of six years recent experience as a Medical Technologist
• Prior experience in a leadership role
• Lab Science understanding of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Banking and Microbiology.
